Six to twelve months to go

Here are the activities that should be considered, and completed by 6 months before the wedding.

  • Set the date!
  • Decide on the type of wedding you want
  • Hire a Wedding planner.
  • Contact the Priest/Rabbi/Minister for a first meeting.
  • Contact the Florist and discuss ideas.
  • Book the Registrar for civil ceremony
  • Decide on numbers of guests
  • Check out possible venues.
  • Book
    • The Transport
    • The Photographer
    • The Videographer
    • The Band, DJ and Musicians
    • Time off work!
    • The Honeymoon
    • The reception venue
    • A Toastmaster
    • Flowers
  • Send out "Save the date" cards to important guests.
  • Begin beauty routine?
  • Bride and Bridemaids to choose outfits

A word of advise. Don't diet for your wedding. Plan to be married the weight you are now. If you add the presures of a diet to your plans, you risk teaching your body to use less food (so you gain weight really fast when you end the diet) and the wedding dress may need altering close to the day.

When completed, go on to the next list of things to do 4 to 6 months to go.
